Its Amplifier night @ Our Next Gold Coast HiFi ClubHouse GTG Saturday 8th Nov 4pm -8pm.

I know its short notice but it has taken some time to get this organised,  finally we are hosting our first ever Amplifier focussed GTG and we have some stunners.

The amps will be from three price ranges and are very different and impressive amplifiers driving some equally impressive speaker / front end combinations. First up the 3rd (rear)room will have the least expensive but giant killing Heschl HAL-200 Hybrid Power amp, Room 2 (front room) will have the recently arrived Pass Labs INT-250 Integrated Amp that I have instantly fallen in love with and what it does SQwise to the systems I have had it in.
Last but obviously in no way least in the main room we will have a pair of the seriously impressive and stunning sounding flagship Linn Klimax 800 power amps, which of course we will combine with the Linn Klimax DSM. The Klimax 800 power amps deliver something so very special in what they add to any system and really should be heard live at least once if you are into true high end Hifi.

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Terry and I'm the owner of GC HiFi based in Arundel on the Gold Coast.

Hifi is not only my business but its my hobby and passion, few things at this stage of my life come close to putting as big a smile on my face as listening to a well put together Hifi system playing music that I love, whether it is on one of my systems or a system I have helped put together for one of the many great people I have had the pleasure of getting to know since starting GC HiFi five years ago.

To me great Hifi is all about the journey, I spend days comparing various components to find what has the best system synergy. Great Hifi isn't always about how much you can or can't afford to spend, its just about putting the right combination of Hifi brands and models together in one excellent sounding system. To that end if you have a favourite Amp, DAC or even speaker cables and your looking to upgrade your system you can always bring them along for a private pre-arranged listening and comparing session. Its not unusual for one of these sessions to take most of a day or even spill over into a second day.

I have a favourite saying that I live by for building a system, measure twice, cut once. Where ever possible try and hear before you buy any component, buying blindly can deliver a great outcome but that is more good luck than anything else.

Same goes for online reviews, they are a good starting point but ultimately it doesn't matter what it sounds like to someone else's ears, no matter how experienced they are, yours are the only ears that count.

Something else we do, on a regular basis we hold, usually on a Saturday late arvo into the evening, a Gold Coast HiFi Clubhouse Get together where we showcase new gear, these events usually have between 15 and 20 people in attendance and if you would like to attend one, just give me a call and introduce yourself.

While a number of HiFi dealers around the globe combine the two great hifi brands Aries Cerat and Estelon together in their main high end listening systems it has not up until now happened here, well now it is finally going to happen, for the first time here in Australia both Aries Cerat and Estelon speakers will be able to be heard playing in the same system at our next Gold Coast HiFi Clubhouse event at GC HiFi in Arundel on Saturday 26th July between 4pm to 8pm.

There will be two systems set up and playing, the Aries Cerat components will include the Kassandra LE and Ithaka DAC's, along with two of their new Integrated amplifiers, plus we will have on display the Helene DAC and Impera Reference Mk2 Pre-amp. Something we are very excited about though is the very first public hearing, outside of going to Aries Cerat in Cyprus, of one of their new top end 3 box Legend components (more on that to come shortly) which will be plugged in and playing in the main system for this GTG.

... Antipodes GC Hifi 2024 GTG

Prior to the Linn night we hosted on the 15th October I set up two weeks earlier the new Majik 150 three-way speakers along with the Tri-amped Power Selekt Hub which will soon be available from us as a complete system. 

This new Linn combo/system provides a very easy one box + speakers system that sounds pretty amazing and to date is the most impressive sub $30K 2-channel system I have heard in my front room. I invite you to have a listen to a recording I took using my old iPhone, as I said its impressive.

I actually set up the system quite different to Michael from Linn who went out of his way  to set it up to highlight to a packed room how much Linn's very own room correction space optimisation software can easily tune the system to each rooms size and shape.
