Magnapan MMG Planer Speakers ... On Consignment
We have in stock a pair of MMG Maggies that we are advertising for one of our regular customers who recently purchased a whole new system.
Given the tiny price being asked for these Planner dipoles which I'm happy to report sound extremely good they are worth every cent being asked and then some and easily rival plenty of speakers that would have a much higher price. To put this into perspective, how often do you find great sounding one owner speakers in very good condition for less than a thousand dollars?
I don't have boxes so this is a local sale only.
To have a chat about these lovely sounding speakers, that with the right amplification, do have very respectable bass please call me on 0418 691 294.
cheers,
Terry
...............
- Technology: Uses a planar-magnetic diaphragm, creating sound from a large surface area, resulting in a broad, immersive soundstage.
- Dipole Design: Radiates sound from both the front and back, requiring them to be placed away from walls (4-5 feet is common) to prevent bass cancellation and enhance depth, note.
- Sound Profile: Known for pristine highs, stellar midrange, and articulate, musical bass (often supplemented with a subwoofer).
- Value: Considered an exceptional performer for its price, allowing listeners to experience high-end audio characteristics affordably, say.
- Amplification: Needs a quality amplifier, ideally one with enough current, as they can be demanding despite their sensitivity.
- Placement: Critical for performance; pulling them out from the wall and adjusting their angle (via the leg brackets for the W) greatly affects imaging and bass.
- Integration: Often paired with a subwoofer (like the Super MMG system) to cover the lower frequencies effectively, note www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/magneplanar-super-mmg-system/.
- Immersion: Creates a "disappearing speaker" effect, placing instruments in a realistic space.
