Who am I?

Hi,

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Terry and I'm the owner of GC HiFi based in Arundel on the Gold Coast.

Hifi is not only my business but its my hobby and passion, few things at this stage of my life come close to putting as big a smile on my face as listening to a well put together Hifi system playing music that I love, whether it is on one of my systems or a system I have helped put together for one of the many great people I have had the pleasure of getting to know since starting GC HiFi five years ago.

To me great Hifi is all about the journey, I spend days comparing various components to find what has the best system synergy. Great Hifi isn't always about how much you can or can't afford to spend, its just about putting the right combination of Hifi brands and models together in one excellent sounding system. To that end if you have a favourite Amp, DAC or even speaker cables and your looking to upgrade your system you can always bring them along for a private pre-arranged listening and comparing session. Its not unusual for one of these sessions to take most of a day or even spill over into a second day.

I have a favourite saying that I live by for building a system, measure twice, cut once. Where ever possible try and hear before you buy any component, buying blindly can deliver a great outcome but that is more good luck than anything else.

Same goes for online reviews, they are a good starting point but ultimately it doesn't matter what it sounds like to someone else's ears, no matter how experienced they are, yours are the only ears that count.

Something else we do, on a regular basis we hold, usually on a Saturday late arvo into the evening, a Gold Coast HiFi Clubhouse Get together where we showcase new gear, these events usually have between 15 and 20 people in attendance and if you would like to attend one, just give me a call and introduce yourself.
